Lincoln level crossing closed after street vehicle collision

Crossing disruptions: The level crossing on Lincoln High Street was closed and traffic was diverted after a street vehicle crashed into the barrier on Friday, October 24.

The level crossing on Lincoln High Street was closed and traffic was diverted after a road sweeper street vehicle crashed into the barrier at around 6am on Friday, October 24.

Network Rail engineers attended the scene in order to carry out emergency repair works.

Police officers enforced a road closure between St Marks junction and the High Street crossing. Pedestrians are also unable to pass, so are advised to use the bridge over Lincoln Central station, accessible from the Tentercroft Street car park or Oxford Street.

All local buses are currently diverting along Portland Street to and from the bus station.
