The Body Shop has returned to Lincoln and is getting ready for an official reopening this weekend, with discounts for shoppers and fundraising for the city’s cathedral.
The new store, located on the high street level of the Waterside shopping centre, opened at 11am on Thursday, November 6.
The official opening event will be held on November 8, with free doggie bags filled with pampering treats to the first 100 customers plus 40% off everything and plenty of refreshments.
To gain the 40% discount customers just need to say the phrase “friends and family” at the till-point.
The Dean of Lincoln Cathedral, the Very Reverand Philip Buckler will be walking down the ‘grass carpet’ in order to cut the ribbon and declare the store open for business.
The previous Waterside store closed in July 2013 due to redevelopment of the shopping centre.
The new store has created eight new jobs in the area.
Body Shop Store Manager Rebecca Boston said: “We are hoping to gain lots of loyalty members after the opening event and we will be offering mini-makeovers, skin care consultations and a VIP shopping experience.
“The layout of the new store is very different. It’s really fresh and there are lots of beautiful new products.
“We may be looking to recruit for Christmas but we won’t know until we have completed these first few weeks.”
Assistant Manager, Helen Scarfe, said: We chose to support Lincoln Cathedral with our opening event because it’s something that is very important to local residents of Lincoln but also to the tourism industry.
“The Body Shop is very keen on helping local communities and local charities.
“We have also really gone back to our original routes so its a lot more focussed on that customer consultation on the products and their ingredients. A lot of the products are fair trade and it’s also enabling people to try the products.”

Snooker can be a lonely and brutal sport, but that strive for perfection is what keeps Lincoln’s Steven Hallworth — the city’s only player to reach the professional level — coming back to the table, even when the angles are tight.
It’s been a whirlwind career for Steven Hallworth, Lincoln’s first and only snooker player to ever reach the professional stage.
In the world of art, where creativity knows no bounds, chainsaw wood sculpting stands out as a thrilling blend of danger and beauty. Imagine wielding a roaring chainsaw, not to fell trees, but to carve them into stunning works of art. This is not your average hobby; it’s an adrenaline-fueled artistic adventure that dates back to the 1950s.
Chainsaw sculpting transforms ordinary wood into extraordinary masterpieces, pushing the limits of what’s possible with a tool more commonly associated with lumberjacking. But this is no rough-and-tumble trade; it’s a craft requiring precision, skill, and a steady hand, where the risk only heightens the allure.
