Lincoln potato suppliers smash fundraising target for local charities

Fundraising success: Lincoln potato supply firm Branston Ltd has smashed its fundraising target for two local charities.

Staff at a leading Lincoln potato supplier went the extra mile to raise funds for two local charities last year.

Employees at Branston smashed their original fundraising target of £8,000 for 2014, raising £20,000 for their nominated charities, St Barnabas Lincolnshire Hospice and The Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance.

Fundraising activities saw staff compete in the Lincoln 10K, Santa Fun Run and ‘Pounding For Pounds’ – a treadmill run covering the equivalent distance from Lincoln to York.

Other charity events included a pub quiz, dress down day and halloween fun day.

Simon Telfer, Human Resources and Logistics Director of Branston said: “Yet again, the staff at our Lincoln site have done the company proud and exceeded the target we had hoped to reach for this year’s charities.

“We’re thrilled to have collected such a great total for both charities and hope it will help them to continue their excellent work in Lincolnshire.”
