Double decker bus crashes into ditch near Lincoln

Double decker crash: A person has been taken to hospital after a double decker bus crashed into a ditch near Lincoln.

Some ten people were on board a double decker bus when it crashed into a ditch in Scothern near Lincoln, and one person has been taken to hospital for treatment.

The bus left the A46 at around 12.20pm on Monday, March 2 between Dunholme and Scothern, the cause of which is believed to be down to high winds.

Emergency services attended the incident and recovered the vehicle, including police, Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance, Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue and East Midlands Ambulance Services.

An East Midlands Ambulance spokesperson confirmed that of the people aboard the bus, nine were treated at the scene, some with minor injuries.

One person was then taken to Lincoln County Hospital for further assessment.
