43 arrested at illegal rave at Twyford Woods in Lincolnshire

Rave over: A total of 43 people have been arrested during the illegal rave at Twyford Woods in Lincolnshire over the weekend.

A total of 43 people have been arrested during the illegal rave at Twyford Woods in Lincolnshire over the weekend.

As previously reported, police shut down the rave in an operation on Sunday evening, May 24.

Of the 43 people arrested, 24 have either been bailed, charged or cautioned and released.

19 people remain in custody and will be processed today, police said.

A man and three young women from Norfolk (aged 18, 20 and 21) were arrested and released earlier on Sunday.

By 4pm on Sunday, police arrested a further 12 people for various offences relating to the illegal rave, and by 10pm they made another 12 arrests.

On Monday morning Lincolnshire Police said they arrested a further 15 people.

Officers will remain at the site of the illegal rave on Monday.

At its height the illegal rave saw an estimated 1,000 revellers attending on Saturday night, May 23.

When Lincolnshire Police attended at 11pm on Saturday, some 200 people attacked officers with bottles and other objects.
