Rogue trader alert: Police are searching for a rogue trader who conned an elderly couple in Lincoln.

Police are searching for a rogue trader who conned an elderly couple in Lincoln.

Officers say an elderly couple who live on Constance Avenue in Lincoln were visited on Tuesday, May 5, by a man claiming to fix roofs.

The man is believed to have visited the couple twice during the day, firstly around 11.30am and then later in the day around 1.45pm.

The couple handed over an amount of money, having felt intimidated to do so.

The rogue trader is described as between 30 and 40 years old, of medium height and build and smartly dressed. It is understood he may have arrived in a vehicle which was parked on Constance Avenue.

Anyone with information about this or similar incidents in the area or who may have seen either the man or his vehicle is asked to call Lincolnshire Police on the 101 number quoting incident number 239 of May 5.
