Driver rushed to hospital after two vehicle crash on Welton Hill near Lincoln

Serious injuries: A man has been taken to hospital following a crash on the A46 at Welton Hill this morning.

A man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries following a crash on the A46 at Welton Hill this morning.


Update: 12.24pm, July 15 – The A46 has been reopened following the collision.


The collision was reported to police at just before 7am and is understood to have involved a grey Audi A5 which was travelling towards Lincoln and a white Ford Transit which was travelling in the opposite direction towards Market Rasen.

The Audi driver has been taken to the Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham with what are described as serious injuries.

The driver of the Ford Transit is understood to have minor injuries.

The car is thought to have come off the road and been overturned in the incident.

The road is currently closed and is not expected to re-open for another three or four hours.

Diversions are in place but motorists are asked to avoid the area if possible as traffic builds up on the surrounding routes.

Police Collision Investigators are at the scene where they will carry out an investigation into the crash.

Sergeant Adrian Wootten has asked anyone who saw the crash to contact Lincolnshire Police on the non emergency number 101, quoting incident 50 of July 15.
