Colin McFarlane to become virtual quizmaster in Lincolnshire challenge

How well do you know Lincolnshire?: People across the county are being challenged to prove their smarts on October 1 at Lincolnshire Co-op’s Big Lincolnshire Quiz Night – hosted by celebrity quizmaster Colin McFarlane.

People across the county are being challenged to prove their smarts on October 1 at Lincolnshire Co-op’s Big Lincolnshire Quiz Night – hosted by celebrity quizmaster Colin McFarlane.

Quizzes are running simultaneously at four locations from 7.30pm; the Drill Hall in Lincoln, the Admiral Rodney Hotel in Horncastle, the Solo Club in Sleaford and Gainsborough Old Hall.

Local celebrity Colin McFarlane is best known as the voice of The Cube, ITV’s popular Saturday night game show – and in his latest high-profile role he’ll be acting as virtual quizmaster for the Big Lincolnshire Quiz Night.

The evening is in celebration of Lincolnshire Day, which will also see food stores offering locally produced samples, treats and experience breaks.

People who are passionate about their local area will have an advantage as the quiz will have a Lincolnshire twist – subjects will include food, history and people.

Places at the events must be booked in advance and competitors can either sign up as a team, or register individually to be assigned a team.

Tickets are available to book online for £3, while dividend card holders will be able to purchase them for £2.

There are also vouchers up for grabs for the teams that prove they know the most about yellow belly life. The overall winning team will each bag a copy of the Lincoln Monopoly board game.

Lincolnshire Co-op’s Member Engagement Manager Richard Whittaker said: “We’re over the moon to have Colin on board, I think having him as our virtual quizmaster will really add some excitement to the night.

“We’ll be testing what people know about where they live. It’s going to be a really fun evening and a great way to celebrate everything that’s great about our county.”
