A 13-year-old Powerboat racer from Lincoln has completed his most successful season to date by securing three silver medals against stiff competition from Britain and Europe.
The Priory Academy LSST student Jonathan Brewer secured a double silver medal in the Powerboat GP RYA British and RYA British Sprint Championships and a European UIM Silver Medal in the GT15 Powerboat Racing Championships.
Jonathan has been racing powerboats for just three years after following in the footsteps of his father and grandparents.
The six round Powerboat GP Junior title has been televised on Sky Sports and viewers have been able to see Jonathan’s talents first-hand, including him winning the final heat of the 2015 UIM European GT15 Championships ahead of his rival Thomas Mantripp.
Jonathan finished the season at the Powerboat GP Bedford Grand Prix, securing his third championship silver medal in the process.

He said: “It’s a been a fantastic season and I’m really chuffed to have taken three silver medals. I couldn’t have done that without the support of all the Jelf Racing team and our sponsors, Peters & May Racing, YourPrintPartner.co.uk and Castlemaine accountancy, as well as my family and friends.
“It’s going to be a long winter and I cant wait to come back next year and hopefully secure the gold for the team.”
Team manager Colin Jelf added: “Jonathan and all of the Jelf Racing Team have had a fantastic season. Jonathan securing the triple silver medal position is a testament to how much he’s grown and developed as a racer this year. He’s listened to advise and learnt from mistakes and is proving he is a formidable young racer.
“He’s a valuable part of the team and the encouragement he offers to his fellow team mates is fantastic the whole team are really proud of Jonathan and his achievements and the way he conducts himself on and off the water.”
