New sponsor found for Lincoln Santa Fun Run

New sponsor: A Lincoln-based company has stepped forward to become the sponsor of the city’s Santa Fun Run this year.

A Lincoln-based company has stepped forward to become the sponsor of the city’s Santa Fun Run this year.

Event suppliers Running Imp have taken on the role for the event’s tenth anniversary on December 13, replacing previous sponsors Danwood.

Nearly 2,500 runners, walkers and dogs are expected to take part, raising money for a host of local charities.

The fun run and walk will take place in the Cathedral Quarter and finish in Castle Square.

Charities set to benefit include the Ethan Maull ‘Up Yours to Cancer’ Foundation, Matt’s Fund, Umbrellas Lincoln, St Andrew’s Children’s Hospice, Alzheimers Society, Samaritans (Lincoln), Candles, LIVES, Linkage Community Trust, and rotary charities.

This year’s run hopes to build on the success of the record-breaking 2014 event, which raised £83,681 for charity.

Chief Executive of Running Imp and Race Director Chris Illsley said: “We’re delighted to become the title sponsor of this great event. Having been involved with organising every aspect of the event, we thought it made perfect sense for it to be named the Running Imp Lincoln Santa Fun Run.

“With it being the tenth anniversary, we want this event to be extra special and we’re aiming to raise £100,000 this year.”

Details of how to apply will be announced soon along with the event’s redesigned website.
