X Factor stars to headline Lincoln Pride LGBT festival

Festival returns: The Lincoln Pride festival is returning to the city on September 27 with two headlining acts best known for their X Factor appearances.

The Lincoln Pride festival is returning to the city on Sunday, September 27, with two headlining acts best known for their X Factor appearances.

The event, which will be opened by Mayor of Lincoln Councillor Andrew Kerry in City Square at noon, is predicted to be even bigger than last year’s 5,000-crowd occasion.

X Factor contestants 2 Shoes and Diva Fever are set to be the main attractions with Lincoln acts, singers and drag artists also performing.

An official after party will be held at Lincoln LGBT bar, The Scene, on Newland where Mamma Coil, Ryan Jagger, Just Jessie and Charlie Healey will DJ and perform throughout the evening.

The event has been sponsored by The Scene, Places Home Lincoln and Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.

Jason Reid, owner of The Scene, said: “Lincoln Pride is inclusive for everyone, whatever your orientation. Events like this bring the city together and we can’t for it to be the big day! It’s also a chance to appreciate how far LGBT rights have come and to celebrate equality.

“There’s loads of amazing acts for people to come and enjoy and we just want to thank everyone that has helped organise this year, it’s going to be the best year yet.”
