Post mortem reveals cause of woman’s death at Lincolnshire care home

Care home death: A post mortem examination has taken place into the death of a 75-year-old woman at a Lincolnshire care home.

A post mortem examination has taken place as part of investigations into the death of a 75-year-old woman at a Lincolnshire care home.

While enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of her death, the examination has revealed she died as a result of a fall.

As previously reported, the woman, who has not at this time been formally identified, was found dead in the early hours of Saturday, February 13 in the gardens of the Old Rectory Care Home in Stickney near Boston.

The post mortem was carried out at Leicester Royal Infirmary to establish the cause of death and investigations are ongoing.

James Wood, Managing Director, Old Rectory Care Centre, said: “I would like to place on record our sincere condolences to all of those affected by this as yet, unexplained death, and would like to place on record our sincere thanks to all of the first responders who attended the site to support our staff and clients.

“The ongoing safety and care of our clients is our utmost priority and we have taken all relevant steps to ensure this has continued throughout this difficult time.”
