A local man in his 30s was taken to hospital following an assault in the Sincil Bank area of Lincoln over the weekend.

Police were called to reports of an incident on Kirkby Street just before 4am on Saturday, April 2.

A local man in his 30s was found injured at the scene and taken to hospital. His injuries are not thought to be serious.

Officers say one offender is believed to have been involved. He is described as being a white man, aged around 40, wearing black jeans and a black hooded top.

Police are appealing for witnesses of the incident to contact them on the non-emergency number 101, quoting incident 54 of April 2.
