A former branch of HSBC in Lincoln will be turned into a hot food takeaway after councillors gave the green light to the plans.

Councillors on City of Lincoln Council’s planning committee approved the proposals at a meeting on July 20.

The premises has recently been granted planning permission to be divided into three small retail units.

As previously reported, the branch on the junction of Newark Road and Rookery Lane closed in May 2015.

HSBC said that customer footfall had reduced by 40% in the four years before the closure.
