Residents of Lincoln joined Rivercare groups on Saturday, July 2 to tidy Sincil Drain and River Witham.
Two Rivercare groups came together to clean up litter from the rivers as part of a clean up scheme in the area.
Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue crews also joined the cleaning team to help get litter out of the inaccessible areas of the watercourse.
The groups collected huge quantities of litter and debris from the water, including multiple shopping trolleys, traffic cones, clothing and materials.
Kevin McCarthy, Witham RiverCare group leader said: “Clean ups like the one on July 2 help to improve the area for people and for wildlife.”
