Sleaford man sentenced after police discovered stashed drug supply

Police found a stash of cannabis when they raided a dealer’s house, Lincoln Crown Court was told.

When officers arrived at the property in Sleaford, the occupant Kane Farmer was asked if he had anything in the house that he should not have had.

Mark Watson, prosecuting, said: “The defendant indicated a box on a living room table inside of which was cannabis.

“It contained 32 grammes of cannabis which would have been the remains of a larger purchase. The street value of what was left was £320.”

Watson said that plastic dealer bags were found behind the television and between the cushions of the sofa. A set of scales was also found on the sofa.

A mobile phone belonging to Farmer was checked and messages were found which indicated he was involved in drugs supply.

Farmer, 33, of Kestrel Close, Sleaford, admitted possession of cannabis with intent to supply after the raid on October 14, 2015.

He was given a six month jail sentence suspended for a year with a rehabilitation activity requirement of up to 15 days and two month night-time curfew.

Michael Cranmer-Brown, in mitigation, said Farmer had been funding his own drug habit by selling to a small circle of friends.

He added that Farmer had no convictions in the last eight years and had admitted the offence.
