A Grimsby man has been jailed for five and a half years for two robberies in the town in July.

Sean Michael Munson, 25, was sentenced in connection with a robbery at Costcutter on Ripon Street on Wednesday, July 6 and a robbery at a property on Grimsby Road, Cleethorpes on Friday, July 8.

Detective Chief Inspector Nicki Miller, Humberside Police force lead for robbery said: “We have robust investigation plans in place to ensure we respond quickly and effectively to capture all evidence and ensure any potentially prolific offenders are taken off the streets quickly.

“This was the case with Munson who committed two robberies within 48 hours.

“Numerous police resources were involved in securing his conviction which will undoubtedly mean the streets are safer.

“I hope this case sends out a strong message to other likeminded offenders that we can and will do everything possible to bringing you to justice if you offend in the Humberside Police area.”
