A man has been assaulted as he collected a takeaway order in Grimsby, with one of the attackers allegedly accusing him of owing money.

The man in his 50s was outside a shop on Victoria Street at just before 7pm on Wednesday, October 19, when he was approached by two men.

One of the men accused him of owing him money before striking him on his head.

The victim was not seriously hurt but suffered bruising to the top of his head.

The men are described as both being white with one being much taller than the other.

The taller of the men was said to be over 6ft and of stocky build with short dark hair and spoke with a local accent.

The second man was shorter at around 5ft 2 ins and of slim build.

The taller man was said to be in his 50s.

Witnesses are asked to come forward by calling Humberside Police on 101, quoting log number 545 of October 19.
