A man is recovering from injuries in hospital after he was stabbed in Lincoln yesterday, police have confirmed.
A search is currently underway for a man who was seen fleeing the scene after the assault on Vernon Street just before 3pm on Monday, October 17.
As reported previously, police cordoned off the road off Lincoln High Street after reports of a stabbing and residents were evacuated from their homes.
Eyewitnesses on the scene reported that a male had been injured, some indicating he had been stabbed in the neck.
On the evening of Tuesday, October 18, police confirmed the man had suffered a single stab wound and was being treated at Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham. His condition is described as stable.
Investigating officers are asking anyone who was in the area at around 3pm yesterday and may have seen a man running away to contact 101.
