Six of Santa’s reindeer will be visiting Lincoln next week as part of a popular Christmas parade.

The furry visitors, which are travelling from Scotland, are coming to the city to star in Lincoln BIG’s much-loved Reindeer Parade, which takes place on November 24.

Families will able to meet and greet the reindeer at St Mark’s Shopping Centre, off the lower High Street, between 2pm and 4pm.

They will also have the chance to say hello to Santa Claus himself.

The reindeer will then team-up with Santa and his sleigh at 6pm, ready for their evening parade.

People can follow the parade as it winds its way from St Marks, up the High Street and through the Cornhill to the city’s Sincil Street area, where the reindeer will stop outside the city’s indoor market.

Lincoln BIG Events and Promotions Manager Michael Armstrong said: “The Reindeer Parade will finish up in Sincil Street, where the reindeer and Santa will remain until 8pm.

“Some of the niche shops in Sincil Street will also be open for business, as will many larger businesses as this is one of our Late-Night Shopping dates and, of course the Christmas Lights will add extra magic to the occasion.

“People visiting the Sincil Street area will also see that we are putting the finishing touches to the Lincoln BIG Ice Rink which will be ready to welcome its first skaters two days later, on November 26.”
