Lincolnshire Co-op donates 200 Christmas turkeys to homelessness charities

Christmas has come early for 10 homelessness charities in the region thanks to a donation of 200 turkeys from Lincolnshire Co-op.

Charities in Lincoln, Boston, Grimsby, Scunthorpe, Spalding, Skegness, Market Rasen and Newark have benefited from the early festive gift.

The charities which have received the turkeys are listed below:

  • 30 turkeys to The Nomad Trust Lincoln
  • 15 turkeys to Framework Lincoln
  • 20 turkeys to Framework Boston
  • 15 turkeys to Newark Emmaus Trust
  • 15 turkeys to Harbour Place Grimsby
  • 25 turkeys to The Forge Project Scunthorpe
  • 15 turkeys to Centrepoint Outreach Boston
  • 20 turkeys to Framework Spalding
  • 15 turkeys to Axiom Market Rasen
  • 30 turkeys to Skegness Salvation Army

Community engagement manager for the Lincolnshire Co-op, Sam Turner, said: “We know that the Christmas period can be a difficult time for many, especially those without a home.

“We’re delighted to donate 200 turkeys so people in accommodation ran by these worthy charities can enjoy a warm, festive meal.”

Chief executive of Harbour Place in Grimsby, Robin Barr, added: “We hugely value the support of Lincolnshire Co-op, particularly around Christmas.

“Our shared community ethos is vital for delivering services to people in the area and it’s special touches like this that really make a difference.”
