Skegness will have its 15 minutes of fame this week when it appears on Channel 4’s new programme Skeg Vegas.

The programme will launch on Wednesday, December 7 at 12.05am and gives viewers the chance to meet the entertainers hoping to make it big on the showbiz circuit in Skegness.

In this Channel 4 premiere, Skegness is described as the home to Europe’s largest caravan park complex, fierce competition and some very demanding audiences.

In the programme, which was filmed in 2015, the cameras follow Noel Gee, a veteran talent manager and his ‘glam rocker sidekick’ Kriz Garrick.

The documentary has been produced by Swan Films and looks into preparations for the six week peak summer period in Skegness.

It also focuses on the pressures of entertainment on the East Coast and follows Noel and Kriz on their quest to find, train and place better entertainers into Skegness venues.

The show also looks backstage at some of the entertainment industry’s best kept secrets and includes Elvis performer, Memphis Flash and Skegness favourite Danielle Adele.

Noel told Lincolnshire Reporter: “We all really enjoyed it, it follows me and the gang at the agency looking for artists from Lincolnshire.

“It’s all about Lincolnshire and the entertainers everyone will know. There are quite a few shots of Lincolnshire and Skegness landmarks.

“I enjoyed it very much and there is another episode in the can.”
