Huge disruption on Lincolnshire railways after power cut

A power cut is causing significant delays and diversions for rail services across Lincolnshire this morning.

Virgin Trains East Coast and East Midlands Trains services are affected by the failure of the electricity supply at the Doncaster signal box.

The following routes used by East Midlands Trains are affected:

  • Doncaster to Peterborough route – trains will be unable to run between Doncaster and Lincoln Central
  • Grimsby / Lincoln to Leicester route – trains will be unable to run between Lincoln and Newark Northgate
  • Norwich / Nottingham / Liverpool – trains will be diverted and not stop at Grantham
  • Nottingham / Grantham / Skegness – trains will be unable to stop at Grantham

All lines used by Virgin Trains East Coast between Doncaster and Grantham are also blocked.
