A local couple were shocked to see what appeared to be an Amazon delivery man stealing money from their farm shop when they reviewed CCTV footage.

Chris and Samantha Bertins, who own Skelton House Farm Shop in Nettleham, caught the Amazon Logistics delivery driver reportedly putting his hand into a box of money before leaving.

The incident happened at 4.27pm on Thursday, March 30.

Samantha told The Lincolnite the honesty box is left out next to the eggs. She added: “Although this time it was only a small amount of money, last time it happened, someone took all our eggs and about £30.

“This is why we installed cameras.

“We were very shocked that it turned out to be a delivery driver. This is someone who we are supposed to trust coming to our homes.

“I contacted Amazon the same day and also the police. The police have traced the car through the registration number shown on one of our other cameras. Amazon have yet to get back to us.”

A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police said: “A small quantity of cash is believed to have been taken from a jar – between £5 and £15.

“The investigation is ongoing and we have been in contact with the business.”

Following the incident, The Lincolnite contacted Amazon UK, which stated that Amazon Logistics works with independent local, regional and national delivery companies across the UK to deliver Amazon parcels on their behalf, so could not comment further.
