A 24-year-old man is in a serious condition in hospital following a fire in a Lincoln flat this morning.

As reported previously, around 20 firefighters were called to a blaze on the fifth floor of Jarvis House on Ashby Avenue in the early hours of Tuesday, April 18.

Police and firefighters were called to the scene at around 2.20am.

Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue said damage had been caused to a sofa and a quantity of waste paper.

A 24-year-old man was taken to a hospital in Nottingham and his condition is described as serious.

Investigations into the cause are ongoing.

A Lincolnshire Police spokesperson said: “This was reported at 2.19am.

“A 24 year-old man was taken to hospital in Nottingham in a serious condition. The cause of the fire is being investigated.”
