Lincoln polling stations open for county council elections

This story is over

Polling stations in Lincoln and Lincolnshire have officially opened for the 2017 county council election.

Voters have until 10pm to cast their vote for their ward county councillor for the next four years.

Once polling stations are closed, ballot boxes will be transported to counts across the county where results will be verified and called through to the council chamber in Lincoln.

There are 70 seats up for grabs on the council, a reduction from 77 due to recent boundary changes.

Some 36 seats must be won by an individual party in order to gain the majority.

Live coverage of the results as they come in will be available throughout the night on Lincolnshire Reporter.

Full results and analysis will continue into the morning on both Lincolnshire Reporter and The Lincolnite.
