Lincolnshire couples are being sought for a new Channel 4 TV series which will show how parents and the in-laws can sometimes get in the way of true love.

Love Against the Odds, which will be aired next summer, will follow couples through their engagement up to their wedding, showing how families can sometimes affect the relationship in a negative way.

To apply, couples must fill out a form which can be found on the TV series’ website.

Producers at 7Wonder are looking to talk to couples who are thinking about getting engaged but sense that they still need to win their family’s support for their partner.

A spokesperson for the show said: “Is the gender, race or cultural background of your partner an issue for your family?

“Perhaps you are part of the LBGTQ community and your parents still have some hang ups. Or maybe there is an age gap in your relationship, or your parents think that you are both just too young to be a serious couple?

“We are also hoping to talk to couples whose families just don’t think that they are a good match for each other as well as older children who have issues with their parent’s partners.”
