The Lincolnshire coast’s first aqua park is set to open this month following a £95,000 investment.

Located at Grange Leisure Park, Mablethorpe, the water park is set to open alongside a new leisure complex on May 26.

The water park will include a Total Wipeout-style course of which the two five-meter high inflatable ‘Jungle Joes’ and a ‘King of the Mountain’ structure will be placed.

Plans for the park

Other features include six trampolines, two runways, two watersides, two walk-on-water elements and various other obstacles in the assault course which stretches 30 meters in length.

The new venture was the brainchild of Richard Smith and will also bring up to 10 new jobs in the area.

The ‘Jungle Joe’

Richard told Lincolnshire Reporter: “The facility’s development is simply a follow on from my previous position at Tattershall lakes Country park where I spent six years as sports and leisure manager.

“The idea came through my knowledge of the locality. As I live in Sutton-on-sea I’m fully aware there is no public pool or water sports centre for 18 miles both north and south of Mablethorpe so it just made sense to create a much needed watersports facility for the town’s public.

The ‘Cyclone’

“We believe a day out at the seaside combined with a visit to the Lincolnshire coast’s newest exciting facility can only provide for the perfect day as we look ahead to what is predicted to be one of the hottest summers on record.”
