A builder has been fined after waste was found fly-tipped on land east of the A46 in Norton Disney.

Phillip Partridge, 29, of Eastgate, Bassingham, was sentenced by Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on June 13 after invoices relating to him were found fly-tipped within a mixture of DIY, construction and green waste.

He was found guilty of charges under the Environmental Act 1995 for failing to provide information to North Kesteven District Council for its investigation.

Partridge was fined £230, with costs of £381.48 and a victim surcharge of £30.

He said he recognised the area, and the evidence relating to himself, but did not recognise the rest of the waste.

Partridge added he normally leaves his waste with his customers.

The S108 notice was issued requesting to see evidence of his customers in order for officers to follow up with further enquiries about the fly-tipping, however this did not transpire.

Councillor Pete Burley, NKDC’s Executive Board member with a special interest for enforcement said: “We do not take fly-tipping lightly, and will prosecute where necessary. We urge anyone who is disposing of waste to do so legally.

“We have a beautiful district and together we should look after it.”
