Plans for 196 homes next to major Lincolnshire road given green light by councillors

The plans were given the go-ahead by councillors at a meeting.

Plans for 196 new homes on the edge of a main Lincolnshire A road have been given the go-ahead by councillors.

The proposed development on land between Empingham Road and Tinwell Road in Stamford was approved by South Kesteven District Council’s development control committee on Tuesday, July 25.

The site will be bounded by the A1 to the west.

Eight councillors approved the plans at the meeting, while one abstained.

The developers will be build a mixture of two storey and two-and-a-half storey properties on the site to the west of the town.

A number of affordable homes will also be built as part of the development, although no specific figure has been mentioned.
