Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward as investigations continue into a BMW crash in Lincoln earlier this month. Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward as investigations continue into a BMW crash in Lincoln earlier this month.

A silver BMW 1 Series was being driven over Pelham Bridge, heading out of the centre of Lincoln, at around 10.45am on July 22, when it crashed and flipped onto its roof at the junction with Dunford Road.

The dramatic crash lead to central road closures and severe delays for a number of hours. People nearby reported at the time that a male had been seen running from the scene.

The male driver, aged 25 from Ancaster, was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and driving without insurance.

A female passenger, aged 26 from Great Gonerby, was arrested on suspicion of permitting the use of a vehicle with no insurance. Both the man and woman were released under investigation.

Anyone with information that could assist the enquiry, or who was the car in the moments before the crash, is being asked to call Lincolnshire Police on 101 with incident reference number 153 of July 22.
