Illegal immigrants arrested after being found in back of lorry in Spalding

The pair were found today.

Two suspected illegal immigrants have been arrested after being discovered in the back of a lorry in Spalding.

The two men were found and arrested by Lincolnshire Police at Springfield Nursery, Roman Bank for illegal entry to UK shortly after 11am on Tuesday, August 22.

It is believed that they had been hiding in the chilled lorry for several days.

Gareth Boxall, community policing inspector for South Holland at Lincolnshire Police, tweeted: “Imagine desperation that led to shutting themselves in chilled lorry for days.”

A Lincolnshire Police spokesperson confirmed that the pair would be looked after until they were collected by immigration and that their nationalities at this stage were unknown.
