First photo released of Boston murder victim

An image of the murder victim has now been released.

Police have released an image of Alberts Volkausks, who died following an assault in Boston on September 23.

As previously reported, officers were called to Pen Street at around 4.30pm on Saturday, September 23, finding a man seriously injured.

The victim has been named as Alberts Volkausks, 44, and from Boston. He died on Sunday, September 24 as a result of his injuries.

Six men have been charged with his murder. These include:

  • Pavel Grunt-Meyer, aged 29, from Crocketts Drive, Wisbech
  • Denis Kijakovskij, aged 27, from London Road, Wyberton
  • Mindaugas Cerneckas, aged 29, from Pen Street, Boston
  • Andrius Barauskas, aged 39, from Smalley Road, Boston
  • Donatos Dektiariovas, aged 36, from Pen Street, Boston
  • Tawtvydas Vainolavicius, aged 19, from Pen Street, Boston

An 18-year-old from Pen Street, Boston, remains in custody on suspicion of murder and a 34-year-old man has been released with no further action, police confirmed.

All six men appeared at Lincoln Magistrates Court earlier today only to confirm their names, dates of birth and addresses.

A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police said: “We would still like to hear from anyone who may have any information that could assist the enquiry.”
