New plans revealed for former NHS building to be converted into flats

The plans have been submitted.

A former NHS building in Sleaford is set to be converted into flats under new plans.

Applicants JAJ Developments have come forward with plans for the Laundon House building on Eastgate in the town centre.

The proposals for the 19th century include 10 flats which will secure the currently unsafe building’s future.

Laundon House was used as a maternity home in the 1930s and 1940s.

More recently, it has been used as a base for outreach clinics by United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust, but was reported to be no longer suitable to provide such services, due to the rapidly deteriorating state of the building.

Rachael Skillen Planning Ltd, speaking on behalf of the applicants, said: “This is a viable scheme that will actively help to secure the long-term retention and preservation of a locally important historical building.

“The scheme will tidy up the currently vacant building and its setting, which is of importance as the site is located within a prominent/gateway location within the town centre.”

Councillors on North Kesteven District Council’s planning committee will consider the plans at a future date.
