Ram raiders smash into Gainsborough Heron store to steal ATM

The group fled the scene after crashing their car.

Police are investigating a burglary at the Heron food store in Gainsborough Market Place.

Shortly after 7pm on Saturday, October 28, offenders drove a white Vauxhall Astra into the glass window of the store and attacked the ATM inside.

After driving off, the vehicle was involved in a collision with stationary vehicles in Balfour Street and abandoned by the occupants, who fled the scene on foot.

A spokesperson for Linconshire Police said: “Anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has any information, is asked to call 101, quoting inc 347 of October 28.

“Alternatively, you can pass information to Crime Stoppers in complete anonymity by calling 0800 555 111.”
