Christmas is coming: Thousands gather for Lincoln festive lights switch-on

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas…

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Lincoln now that the Christmas lights have officially been switched on.

Lincoln City FC heroes Danny and Nicky Cowley, along with Gogglebox’s Sandi Bogle and X Factor’s Andy Abraham switched on the lights on the High Street on Friday, November 17.

The festive event was hosted by the Mayor of Lincoln Councillor Chris Burke and the council’s Civic Party.

The Lincoln Salvation Army Band also played a selection of Christmas carols ahead of the traditional procession by members of the Civic Party, councillors and Freemen from the Guildhall to the stage in front of the High Street War Memorial.

Lights were also switched at St Mark’s Shopping Centre by the stars of the Lincoln Drill Hall Jack and the Beanstalk pantomime and Lincs FM’s John Marshall.
