Heavy snow forecast for Lincoln on Sunday

And the Lincoln Christmas Market is cancelled too on Sunday.

Met Office forecasters say Lincoln will see heavy snow Sunday.

Due to the forecast, the final day of Lincoln Christmas Market on December 10 has been cancelled.

Some 10cm of snow look likely quite widely within the warning area, with 15-20 cm in places.

Saturday temperatures won’t budge over 3°C in Lincoln, with -2°C forecast overnight into Sunday, when highs of no more than 1°C are expected.

The weather alert in Wales, the Midlands and Northern England has now been upgraded to amber – meaning travel disruption is likely.

The Met Office says there is increasing certainty in the track and location of the heaviest snows and Lincoln is in the affected area.
