Andrew Simpson: Inquest to open after Sleaford man killed in crash south of Lincoln

He was killed earlier this month.

An inquest will open into the death of Sleaford man Andrew Simpson, killed in a crash south of Lincoln earlier this month.

Andrew, 29, died in the single vehicle crash on South Hykeham Road in Aubourn at around 1pm on Thursday, January 11.

The married dad-to-be was killed when the red Peugeot 308 he was driving left the road and hit a tree.

Andrew, affectionately known as Chewie after the Star Wars character due to his large stature, worked as a contracts manager at Industrial Water Jetting Systems in Lincoln.

A number of tributes were left on Andrew’s Facebook page following his death.

Dominik Seitz said: “I met Chewie at uni and he’s just one of those guys that you will never ever forget again. A true legend.”

Co-worker Leah Jones added: “I am still completely shocked.

“He will be so sadly missed at IWJS. I had grown so very fond of him through my years of working with him and my work will surely not feel the same again.”

An inquest will open at Lincoln Cathedral Centre on Thursday, January 25.
