A broken down train has left commuters facing long delays and scaled-back services on the Lincoln rail network.
The freight train broke down at the Newark Flat Crossing, leading to a backlog of affected services on the Leicester/Lincoln/Grimsby and the Matlock/Nottingham/Newark routes.
A limited bus service has been put on between Lincoln and Nottingham for the morning of Wednesday, January 10.
East Midlands Trains said the freight has now been moved forward and the crossing is clear.
However, the timetables between Lincoln and Nottingham have been disrupted.
EMT said in a notice to passengers: “At present we are expecting our normal train service to resume on the affected routes at around 10.30 am.
“There is a limited bus service running between Lincoln and Nottingham to support the train service.
“We are sorry for the delay to your jouney this morning.”
