Gaming enthusiasts to compete in first ever Lincoln eSports tournament

The event will take place in Lincoln later this year.

Are you a star striker on FIFA? A top sniper on Call of Duty? Well Lincolnshire’s very first eSports tournament could be just the event for you.

The eSports event will take place on March 11 at the Isaac Newton Building off Ropewalk, University of Lincoln.

There will be three main eSports tournaments taking place throughout the day:

  • FIFA 18 – Local derby special – Lincoln City FC v Grimsby Town FC
  • Call of Duty WWII
  • Rocket league

The FIFA 18 tournament has the backing of both Lincoln City FC and Grimsby Town FC, and will see fans compete to represent and become official eSports players of their respective club.

Two winners will then face off in the Grand Final to determine the overall winner, bagging themselves a cash prize along with bragging rights for their club.

There will also be club players in attendance at the event, with a raffle being held for fans to win the chance of playing alongside them on FIFA.

There will also be plenty for visitors to do, with consoles (pick up & play), VR experiences, game/tech exhibitors, indie game developers (showcasing upcoming game released) and tech talks throughout the day.

Money raised on the day will go towards causes chosen by each football club.

General entry is £3.50 and tournament entry costs £5 per person, which includes general entry.
