Potholes to be patched up in two Lincoln villages

Potholes will be fixed before the roads are fully resurfaced.

Contractors will fix potholes on two main Lincoln village roads next month, leading to a number of road closures.

Repairs are planned for the A1500 Tillbridge Lane, Sturton by Stow, between its junction with Eastfield to a point approximately 400m east of the Bransby junction.

Work will start on Thursday, February 22, and is expected to take 12 days.

Tillbridge Lane will be closed throughout with traffic diverted via the A1500, A15, A46, A57, B1241, A1500 and vice versa.

Patching works are also planned for the B1202 Bardney Road, Wragby, from its junction with Goltho Lane to a point approximately 1km east.

Work here is set to begin on Monday, February 26, with the repairs due to be completed within five days.

During the improvements, traffic will be diverted via the B1202, B1190, A158, B1202 and vice versa.

Mark Heaton, programme leader for surfacing and patching at Lincolnshire County Council, said:“Both these roads are set to be surface dressed in the near future, which help extend their life.

“However, before we do that, we need to go in and patch any potholes.

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused and will aim to get the roads re-opened as soon as possible.”
