A Lincoln woman has branded a group on a night out in the city “a disgrace” after claiming they asked her to film them urinating on a homeless man.

Bar worker Katy Hewitt, 36, from Lincoln was walking through the Bailgate area of the city on Friday night when she noticed a man lying motionless on the cold floor.

She told The Lincolnite she approached the man, believed to be homeless, to check he was okay. She described him as “completely out of it”.

“He was snoring, so I left him,” she said. “Then, about ten young lads came out of the pub and came up to me to ask me if I would take a video of him p***ing on the man.

“Obviously I said no and told them how out of order it was.

“He then asked his mate to do it, which they agreed. He then got his “bits” out and was just about to do it, when I went running over screaming at them to stop.

She said she couldn’t believe they thought it was funny.

“They did but were still laughing and also just taking pictures of him! I left but have no idea if they actually did this after.

“The guy could not defend himself at all as was completely out of it. As much as it isn’t nice to see people laid out in the street like this he certainly does not deserve that. Nobody does. It’s a disgrace.”

Katy added that she was shocked that no one else around appeared to take notice of the ordeal.

She posted her outrage in a Facebook status and quickly gained hundreds of responses from people disgusted at the behaviour described.

Her post has been shared more than 130 times and many responded with disgust, calling the group “nasty” and praising her for stepping in.

The matter has now been reported to Lincolnshire Police.

It remains unclear of the group went on to carry out the humiliating act.

Police have logged the report under incident number 181 of February 26. Anyone with information should call the non-emergency 101 number.
