Roadworks affect Skegness route and Gibraltar Point visitor centre

Road works planned for next week.

A section of Drummond Road in Skegness will be closed for repairs next week and Gibraltar Point visitor centre will shut for one day.

Road works will take place from Monday, March 5 until the evening of Wednesday, March 7.

The repairs have been planned after flooding damaged an area of carriageway near the yacht club.

Lincolnshire County Council will be carrying out works on the road to Gibraltar Point and also on the nearby verges.

Work will be conducted overnight on the evenings of Monday and Tuesday.

The road will be closed at its junction with Seacroft Square from 6pm to 7 am. However, it will be open for public on Tuesday morning.

On Wednesday, 7 March the road will not be open for public from 7.30am until 5pm.

Gibraltar Point visitor centre will remain closed on Wednesday, March 7.

A spokesperson from Lincolnshire County Council said: “We want to get these repairs done before the start of the main visitor season.

“We’ll be doing as much of the work as possible overnight to minimise the disruption, but we will need to do some during the daytime on the Wednesday.”
