Stickney delayed roadworks to start this week, while Skegness works postponed

Don’t get caught out.

Roadworks in Stickney will start on Monday, March 12.

A main road through Midville near Stickney will be closed for four weeks starting on Monday (March 12) to allow for repairs on the highway.

A 1,250-metre section of the C627 Fodder Dyke Bank is set to be reconstructed with a technique using recycled material from the existing carriageway.

The road will need to be closed to all traffic, including pedestrians and cyclists, throughout the project.

Traffic travelling along Fodder Dyke Bank will be diverted via Hobhole Bank, the B1184 Benington Bridge, Station Road, Sibsey, the A16 and the C627 Horbling Lane.

Traffic travelling along Black Drove will be directed via Scarborough Bank and Midville Lane or via Barlode Drain and C67 Station Road.

The technique will involve the top section of the road being crushed and mixed with other material to create a new base layer.

Lincolnshire County Council were due to resume delayed works on Drummond Road to Gibraltar Point, Skegness, on March 12, but due to adverse weather conditions it will now be postponed again.

The work is needed after flooding damaged an area of carriageway near the yacht club, but due to standing water caused by the recent heavy rainfall it work has been postponed until the week commencing Monday, March 19.
