Man arrested after multiple women harassed and followed by white car

Have you been approached by a man in a white Lexus?

A 32-year-old male has been arrested in connection with three incidents of women being followed by a man in a white Lexus in North East Lincolnshire.

The man remains in custody as police look to establish the circumstances of each incident.

The first incident happened in the petrol station at the Asda store in Holles Street, Grimsby at around 9pm on Tuesday, April 10.

A man in a white car is said to have made advances to a woman before following her for a short time when she turned him down.

A similar incident occurred when a man in a white car reportedly followed two women after pulling up next to them in the same supermarket’s car park around 3pm on Saturday, April 14.

The man who made the approach at the petrol station is also believed to have followed that woman again for a second time – on Cleethorpes seafront at around 4pm on Saturday, April 14 – prompting her to contact the police.

Humberside Police Detective Inspector James Fairgrieve said: “We’re aware that there have been posts on social media about these incidents and ask that you leave it to us to investigate what has happened and whether there was any malicious intent.”

Anyone with any information to help with the investigation, or who has suffered a similar incident, should contact DS Robert Laking via 101, quoting log number 444 of April 14.

It can also be reported anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
