Poor hygiene rating for Lincoln pizzeria

Major improvement needed in food safety management.

A Lincoln pizza takeaway received a food hygiene rating of ‘one’ at a recent inspection, with major improvement deemed necessary in some areas.

Pizza 4 U on Newark Road in Lincoln was inspected by City Council officers on March 28 and the newly released rating, along with reviews from some customers, highlight that improvements are needed.

The biggest issue found by inspectors was in the management of food safety, where it was deemed that major improvement is required.

Inspectors reported that improvement is also necessary in hygienic food handling and the cleanliness and condition of the facilities and building.

Pizza 4 U claims on its website to “strive for prompt, efficient and courteous service to leave an impressionable mark on our customers”.

With a 4.5 star rating from 446 reviews, Pizza 4 U has a good reputation, but two recent customers were less than satisfied.

Valery wrote that “on this last occasion I ordered a vegetarian pizza and when it was almost finished I bit into a piece of chicken”.

Tracey added that the staff were rude and the customer service and food were poor, but there were also happier members of the public saying they would order from the takeaway again.

The takeaway’s Google reviews has an overall 3.9 star rating, but the last reviewer from a month ago was very unhappy with the service and quality of food.

The Lincolnite tried to approach the takeaway for a response and to see if they have addressed the issues, but there was no reply by the time of publication.
