Thieves rip £50k of solar panels from property

They made off with two tonnes of panels.

Thieves stole around £50,000 worth of solar panels and power inverters from a property near Stamford.

The theft, which equates to two tonnes, took place during the early hours of Monday, March 26 at a property in Casewick Park, in Casewick.

The resident was disturbed at 5.15am and realised one panel was left behind and hanging down from the property.

A large van or truck would have been needed to take the panels as it is believed 100 were stolen, police said.

Lincolnshire Police also believe the suspects headed off in the direction of Uffington, east of Stamford.
