New Lincoln City home kit divides opinion

The shirt was available for a first look at the Lincolnshire Show

Lincoln City have had a lot of success in recent seasons and fans haven’t had any complaints, but the new home kit has been dividing opinions.

After receiving feedback from fans, the club decided to take inspiration from some of the classic kits of yesteryear.

The 2018/2019 season home kit features the unmistakeable red and white stripes, accompanied by a thick line of red angled stitching.

Designed by Errea, the new kit also goes for a more modern collar style with new sponsors, asbestos specialists NSUK.

But the kit received a mix response on social media when it was revealed, with some fans calling it “the worst kit ever.”

Leigh Robinson said that “the decision will cost the clubs loads of revenue”, and he hopes that “it’s not too late to rethink the decision.”

Steve Robinson wrote: “Oh dear. Let’s hope the performances are better than this. Looks like [they] had several ideas, couldn’t pick one so just went with them all.”

But, Sue Adams said: “I love it. Almost as eye catching as Nigeria’s World Cup strip that sold millions.”

Alan Johnson thought that it could be “a grower”, he said that he likes it more when he took a second look.

The new shirt was available to purchase at the Lincolnshire Show today for £42, and will be available again tomorrow, Thursday, 21 June.
