The ultimate 2018 Lincolnshire Show guide

This year’s show has a special RAF theme

Over 60,000 people are expected to attend the 134th Lincolnshire Show later this month with a special Royal Air Force theme to commemorate the organisation’s centenary..

RAF Falcons will make a special appearance on both days at the event, which will take place at Lincolnshire Showground in Grange-de-Lings on Wednesday, June 20 and Thursday, June 21.

Doors open between 8am and 6pm.

What to expect

Families will be able to experience exciting RAF fly pasts from a Dakota, Spitfire and the Red Arrows.

As well as the RAF celebrations, this year’s show will also celebrate 100 years since the end of World War I, which forms an important part of Lincolnshire’s rich history.

There will be entertainment, activities and displays to enjoy relating to the theme.

There will be beautiful floral displays from the flower show, while local delicacies and live cookery demonstrations from top local chefs and producer will be in The Lincolnshire Kitchen.

The hot food court includes a bacon, sausage and egg sandwich, while there will also be a vast array of street food on offer, as well as a variety of meats, cheeses, James, chutneys and local ales including Ferry Ales Brewery’s special Bastian Ale.

The Showground has plenty of changing facilities and both HomeStart Lincolnshire and the Rotary offer breastfeeding areas.

Highlights across the two days include horse shows, Lincolnshire Fire & Rescue’s concert band, a BMX show, Leicester Tigers mascot Welford and the rest of the club’s roadshow team, the RAF Falcons display and more.

There will also be an exclusive boutique style shopping area and 600 trade stands offering a wide variety of items for shoppers to buy.

There will be fun activities in the Discovery Zone for children, including a Laser Qube which is new for 2018, an inflatable football goal and adventure climbing.

Travel and how to get there

The A15 from the A46 Lincoln bypass to the A631 at Caenby Corner is closed to all but show traffic.

Organisers of the Lincolnshire Show have asked that people follow advice given by Traffic Marshalls, Police Officers and Society Stewards.

Routes to the show will be signposted.

Stagecoach will also be running a shuttle service between the showground and Lincoln City Bus Station and a regular bus service will be running every 15 minutes in both directions. It will leave the Lincoln City bus station at 8:30am.

Ticket prices are:

  • Adults (over 16) – advanced tickets are priced at £20 with on the gate tickets £24
  • Child (5-16) – advance tickets are priced at £6, with on the gate tickets £7
  • Family (2 adults and up to three children) – advanced tickets are priced at £42 with on the gate tickets £49
  • Children under 5: Free
  • Young person (17-22) – only available in advance priced at £17

Advance tickets sales will close at midnight on Sunday, June 17.

Can I take my dog to the show?

Dogs are welcome at the Lincolnshire Show provided they are kept on a fixed lead.

They are allowed in all areas, excluding the Food Zone, Epic Centre and Discovery Zone.

There is also a dog crèche where you can drop off your dog if needed.
