Firefighters rush to Lincoln lorry blaze

Fire crews have rushed to the scene.

Residents in the Hykeham Road area have been warned to keep doors and windows closed due to a lorry fire which has spread to surrounding vehicles.

Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue said a call was made to them at 9.28am on Friday, July 27.

A lorry is said to be on fire on Glentham Close, off Hykeham Road, and the blaze has spread to a van and a car.

Two crews are in attendance at the time of writing and two further crews are en-route.

The fire and rescue team posted on social media: “If you live close to the area, please keep doors and windows closed. Updates to follow.”

A Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue spokesperson also told The Lincolnite: “Reports say numerous vehicles are on fire along with a length of fencing.

“There are no reports of any injuries and the cause is unknown at this time.”
